Re: Competition #253 - Signs of Spring
Thanks for all the entries and such a good selection. This is my first attempt at judging so I’ll try not to upset anyone. I do wonder sometimes if resizing causes some pictures to lose some quality.
1. Mallard duckling- cuteness overload. Loved the reflection and the rings in the water.
2. Spring Canvas - I liked the colour palette but it was a bit fuzzy so I’m not sure what happened to it when it was uploaded.
3.Daffodils - the Archetypal sign of spring- good shot
4. Tree in Blossom at Pennington Flash- I liked the way you captured the whole tree against the blurred background
5. Trio of Cygnets - more cuteness. Well captured and super sharp.
6.Tomato seedling. Loved this interpretation of the theme. Well executed photograph.
7.Daisy. Absolutely perfect shot but sadly more of a summer flower.
8.Camellia - another sharp picture well executed
9 Butterfly. - I think this probably caught the movement of the butterfly and lost something again when it was resized. The Muscari are really sharp but the butterfly looks a bit fuzzy.
10. Darling buds - good interpretation of the theme but slightly out of focus.
This was not an easy decision as there were so many really good entries.
So in First Place Gordon with the Signs of Tomatoes
2nd Andy with The Mallard Duckling
Joint 3rd Lesley with Pennington Flash in Spring.
And Mel with Trio of cygnets.
5th Everyone else.
