unusual winter shoot?

Post by pammie »

I saw an article about this on Countryfile this morning....

There is a Moonraking Festival in Slaithwaite, Yorkshire every year; and 2009 will be running 14-21 February. The 21st will see the parade with all the lanterns and firworks etc.

See http://www.slaithwaitemoonraking.org/docs/route.html for links to pictures.

Does anyone fancy getting together and taking a trip up there on Saturday 21st February?

Hi Pammie

Yes - I saw it too and thought it would be an excellent photo opportunity. Yes, I'd like to go. I'll put it in my diary.

Greetings from sunny Bolton.

I would like to go to this event, should be good, cos we normally experience good weather in Yorkshire don't we?

Tom.

Hi
Me, Pammie and Tom were planning on going but I ended up jibbing out, I was going out on the raz the night before (works do), I'd promised the lads who came to clear ADAPS drains a pint or two and I thought I may end up feeling a bit fragile the next day - which I did   and apart from that the weather didn't look so smart anyway. I don't know if anyone else went.

Had also thought of this as an opportunity ... but having spoken to someone who lived locally, it would clearly have been an evening event to capture to lantern procession and then the raking of the moon ... so decided not for me after all. Regards
