my first attempt....

Post by pammie »

My first atempt at firework photography was last Friday in Blackpool in the World Firework Championships. I think I got some reasonable shots, given its' rather hit and miss nature. As a bonus, there was a gorgeous sunset, and I did some night-time street/urban stuff on the way back to the car park. £3 to park and the rest was free - bonus!

The Championships are on every Friday for about another 3 weeks if anyone is interested, plus you have the illuminations.

This is just straight out of camera for now, any comments welcome

Pammie, I like it. Not just because of the fireworks, but the pier is well lit up as well.
I've had a few goes at fireworks, wouldn't say I've given up, but I'd only really try again at a pro demo like this one. Looking out over the Irish sea, you don't get any light polution either which is a big bonus.

I used to have one on the wall, I'd changed it to B+W and colour popped it, so the black sky was really black, but this looks fine as it is.

This is superb Pammie, I’ve never yet had a, even half decent shot of fireworks, It’s the abstract side of it that hit me first.

Well done

Thanks for the positive comments guys! I went again last friday and stood in a different position, managed to get some more reasonable shots. Maybe I'll put a short AV together to Handel's firework music.......or maybe something a little less predictable!!

cheers, Pammie
