Hi Mark - I like the way it scrolls to the right - quite different and effective.

On the home page I get a funny blue or purple square around the link/shutter image to photos (it isn't obvious that you click on this).

There's still a typo in about - it should be "met" not "meet" and a capital "W" for Westminster.

Otherwise - it looks good.

hi all,

Many thanks for all your comments,

I have added the navigation bar for all the galleries to make navigation simpler, and hopefully corrected any typo's!!!

With ref to the orange/blue box that appears around the iris on the home page, I have no idea what could be causing this, using safari on the mac I get no coloured box. - any suggestions paul?

It's no use asking me.... you're more of a web designer than I am.
In Internet Explorer I see no coloured box.

Did you copy your home page logo off the ADAPS website?

The coloured box appears briefly in Firefox when you click on the iris. Speaking of which, I don't see the point of it as it's just an additional unnecessary click IMHO, and I'd be concerned that some people would get to the site and not realise they were meant to click on it.

I'm not keen on the scrolling as it's leaving some photographs cut in half. The "Scroll >>>" text on the top isn't a hyperlink and so didn't do anything when I clicked on it. Since all the photographs are on one page, the viewer has to download every photograph when the page loads. This doesn't take long since all the photographs seem to be about 20k and look like large thumbnails. I think you need to think about providing larger images.

Also linked to the scrolling is the fact that I didn't at first realise that there was a link on the far right hand side to additional Berlin wall photographs. I think you need to make the links to the other albums a lot more obvious, otherwise people won't realise they are there. If I'd stumbled across the site for example I may not have scrolled all the way across.

Just my opinion, feel free to ignore it <grin>.

I don't get the coloured box anymore - just dots around the image as you click it - agree with sunsworth though, not sure you need the iris link.

hi paul

I got the iris logo from google images, then vectorised it using illustrator to neaten the shapes up, then exported as a gif file to preserve the lines.

It's a very very long time since I have made any websites!! - so not bad for a first attempt

Mark

This is much better now the navigation bars are on all the pages. We are now in to the nitpicking.

The use of capitals on the navigation bar at the bottom is inconsistent. Because you have used a capital on the first 3 sections i.e. Jazz, BW Portraits etc. each following section i.e. Dreamland, Architecture, New York and Berlin should use capitals.

To fix the entry problem you could turn the iris in to an animated gif with the words "click to enter" showing briefly

I do not understand why there is a navigation bar about/contact at the bottom on the home page when it is part of the top navigation bar every where else.

Hope this helps

Hi all,

1) The links on the home page, typographically look more pleasing in their current format, by default the link to the main content is always at the top.
2) Animating the iris logo is very cheesy and would detract from the look and feel of the site, and creates extra all be it smaller delay.
3) I have also corrected any inconsistencies in the page titles (due to popular requests!!)
4) The scroll >>> is not a hyperlink by design as each screen size and resolution are different - hope this is clarified

One thing I am struggling with is the models names from the Colour and Black & White series, if anyone has these it would be much appreciated!

Many thanks for the input! I hope thats the end of the nitpicking!!!

I don't know what you've done now Mark, but I'm clicking all over the iris and the home page to try to get to the photos and it's just not letting me in.....

Colour Portraits:

Pic 5 (blonde woman in red flowery dress) - SAM
Pic 8 (brunette with black jacket and heart shaped pendant) - JENNY

both brought to ADAPS shoots by me.

The iris still isn't working.
I just clicked on the 'photos' text link at the top of the home page instead.
