ANNUAL COMPETITION 2010
Just for clarification as we approach the annual competitions for this year - as with slides previously, will the limit for DPI submissions be seven per category?

If it were, the judging could take a week....something we need to discuss I think!

No one would want me to judge, I can assure you of that ...

Re: ANNUAL COMPETITION 2010
Len - can you post the submission dates for the Annual competition - I think you said on Thursday different dates for the two competition nights (22 April and 29 April). (I can't remember which night is digital and which night is prints - it's not shown on the syllabus.)
Did we agree on 2 images per category?
Also, last year I remember a judge passing comment about certain images being entered into the wrong category - is it acceptable to submit a black and white portrait into the monochrome section? (If somebody could clarify for me what the "creative" category is intened to cover that would be marvellous too.)
Jim/Glenys - I know you mentioned this on Thursday, but if you could post details of the L&CPU submission details and deadlines, that would be great, so we can "kill two birds with one stone" as we prepare images.
Many thanks all
Andrew

Creative
this category aims to test the photographer's powers of originality and imagination to produce an image that is eye-catching and creative.

Re: ANNUAL COMPETITION 2010
Thanks Paul. The annual form shows the category "Creative Colour" and I recall a while back that "Colour" was going to be dropped, which ties in with the above definition. John is double-checking this.

Re: ANNUAL COMPETITION 2010
I can confirm that "colour" was dropped at the AGM last year and "creative" is the new category. This was intended to include all monochrome, toned and colour concepts. Creativity is the thing being looked for here.
Best regards

The entry form has now been modified to remove the word 'colour' from the Creative category.Andrew Shepherd wrote: The annual form shows the category "Creative Colour" and I recall a while back that "Colour" was going to be dropped, which ties in with the above definition.
