Post Photoshop Angel

Post by kevinlowe »

After the excellent session on Photoshop last saturday morning, I had a nice long walk back to Leigh, and as the weather was nice and sunny I popped into the cemetery to try and take an image to try out what I'd learned on.

Nearly a week later, this is what I have.

Hi Beeblebear (sorry, I don't know your name)

Do you want comments on the photo or the Photoshop work?
And what particularly have you done to it in Photoshop?

Best regards
Paul

Hi Beeblebear

Maybe you could post a before and after shot then we can see what you have done, you could then invite comments from the other members.

Regards
Tracey

Hi Paul,

Sorry, I'm Kevin. I just used the same username I have everywhere else- didn't think that through properly.

I'd welcome any comments, yes. I haven't done much to it at all, just cropped, resized and altered the levels. I tried lightening the shadows but I didn't like the way it looked so left that alone. Oh, and I cloned out a ladybird. I probably made it sound like I'd been working on it non stop for a week, but I am a photoshop novice really so I was just trying to put into practice the things John had shown us on the saturday.

Here's the very similar original -

Hi Kevin

Keep 'beeblebear' if you like it, but if you want to change your username you could have a word with John Riley about it.

I remember when I was getting into image editing I'd spend hours and hours and hours practising different techniques and those have stood me in good stead, so I can appreciate where you're at. Keep at it and enjoy it! :D

Glad to see you're having a go Kevin! I like your shot. I particularly like the way you've gone for such a tight crop. Keep at it and we'll hope to see some more. There's a Set Subject competition coming up soon that you might like to have a go at, or indeed one of the Monthly Competitions perhaps?
Best regards

John
