Nice shots Bert you must have got there early. The only shots I could get were by holding the camera above the heads of the people in front of me.

Re: Vodafone McLaren in Manchester.
Thanks Steve, I arrived about 9-45, most of the best places where already taken, I managed to get on the barrier outside the John Rylands library and daren't move till after 2 oclock, rubbish weather for photography but managed a few photos but it was very difficult being so close to the action and the speed he was going at, also the crowd leaning over the barriers obstructed the view and the fact he only did four runs in the F1 car didn't help, but the sound of that McLaren bouncing off the buildings and the speed he went round the narrow circuit was well worth getting wet for.

Re: Vodafone McLaren in Manchester.
I got a good photo of about the last two inches of his rear wing and a stunning shot of the second before his car drove past me. Epic misses, as my nephew would say.
I knew I wouldn't get any good shots, but went for the sound. I can't believe it, even Mrs H was impressed, but it woke the twins up and they were still screamming after he'd gone.
He did do a second run in the car about 30 minutes later, they announced it over the tannoy when he got out of the car first time.
I went to get a shot of the new McLaren road car. It was in a trailer in one of the side streets. I waited patiently for everyone to get out of the way, stepped in, lined up, pressed the shutter, to find that the bloke had turned up to close the trailer. I have a great photo of his backside and and half closed shutter. You can just make out the tyres.
Went to the pub for a pint of Lancahsire Pale Ale and then back off home.
Bert, good shots mate.

Re: Vodafone McLaren in Manchester.
Philip,
Is this the car you where hoping to photograph the new MP412C, another difficult shot as the car is chrome plated and everything is reflected in it, If I win the double rollover in the lottery tomorrow I will buy one and you can come and take as many photo's as you like.
Bert.
Steve,
I prefer the straight shot, but the zoom effect is in keeping with the subject,
well done,
Bert.

Re: Vodafone McLaren in Manchester.
But all that chrome would be a bugger to keep clean....

Thanks Bert, that's a kind offer.
Pammie, I'd put up with it. A bit of Brasso would bring it up a treat.
