Poppies in Tyldesley Cemetery
Yesterday I was taking some photographs of the poppies in Tyldesley cemetery when I came across this. I did a bit of digging on the internet here - http://www.cwgc.org/debt_of_honour.asp?menuid=14 and it turns out they were indeed brothers killed within three days of each other at Arras during the first world war. Both are buried in Northern France. It's impossible to imagine the grief that the parents must have felt.

Re: Poppies in Tyldesley Cemetery
Steve,
I was at the ceremony in Westhoughton and I too found two poppies which commemorated two men from the same family who died in 1917.
What got me, was that someone has, for 92 years, yes, 92 years, placed crossed for these two people.
I know we should never forget, but my point is, there is someone there who keeps reminding us.
