If possible can people declare whether they are going or not, on this facebook event page, unless you are not on facebook - if not, please make your you explain that and state it here - Once details are finalised and dates are set, I will put up a sign-up list up at the club.
http://www.facebook.com/events/167113283398591/
so what's on offer?
Day one:
Prep and Planning - A walk-through on how I come up with a concept, how I style a shoot, and then a run through some basic makeup and hair for those times when your makeup artist suddenly cancels on you.
How to work with a location and your model - Location walk-through, including how to cope with some issue lighting and how to work with a fashion model you may have never met before.
Practical Shooting time with professional models - As long as we are out on location, there will be the chance for everyone to roam and work with different models with me circulating (and surgically attached to my phone) incase anyone has any issues, questions or needs extra advice. You will need your own cameras and gear understandably.
Day Two:
Talks/walkthroughs of how I personally handle my post-processing - Including skin retouching, cleaning up images for release, fixing posing issues/cleaning up bodyshapes (popular request with portrait shoots of young women I assure you haha) and creative techniques to transform your images into something that little more special.
Me as your personal Photoshop tutorial slave for the day - I will be available all day for you to ask questions or to ask for help on issues within your editing - aka bring in images to illustrate to me creative ideas you want to learn how to do and I will show you - what I don't already know I will be able to figure out! You will be free to come and go as you need to during the afternoon as the more set tutorial work will be done during the morning.
Depending on any location booking fees, the fee for the workshop (both days) should be around £15. Transport and food are not included in this fee.
What is still to be decided:
Location or Studio based? I'm saying location based as it is much less restricting especially if there is a large group coming and more space to work with a variety of models. But if there is a general desire for it to be studio based I can change it to a studio shoot (- But please bear in mind that if this workshop is successful I shall likely do at least one more this year probably sometime during the summer or oct/nov time and which ever subject isn't covered by this workshop, can be covered then.)
All in one weekend or spread over two consecutive saturdays?
And depending on the last answer, what dates are most of you available? I want to do this workshop by the end of April. I was thinking roughly the 21st April (and the 28th if spread over two weekends).

Re: Fashion Photography Workshop
All a good idea - I would aim for two consecutive saturdays, but lets see what others say.
I have pencilled in 21st and 28th April and for now the dates are held for you at the clubrooms if needed. If you want to change those dates please check availablility with me as there are tother things booked in on some dates.
Again personally, I would prefer the shoot on location.

Cool shall be glad to see you there danny =) It's looking like it is indeed going to be the 21st and 28th April and I am planning to call Holker Hall (south cumbria) to see if they will let us shoot there on the 21st (shoot day)
If you're able to, go rsvp on the facebook page so I can get a closer idea of numbers for when I call Holker =)
