Excellent, thanks Paul, CS2 is perfectly usable and IMHO much better than any version of Elements.

I used CS2 until I got my 7D then it wasn't compatible so had to upgrade to CS5. But you're right John, CS2 was great for what I needed, people just need to make sure their cameras are compatible with it.

What may or may not be compatible is any RAW converter, which may not recognise later cameras. However, we could use whatever software comes with a camera to convert the files to TIFF or JPEG, after which CS2 won't have a problem.

You can also update camera raw separately, or, as john says, use a seperate converter.
Thanks Paul.

Events are moving on and it seems Adobe may be saying that the download is intended, along with provided serial numbers, to be for anyone who needs to reinstall CS2 but who already has a licence to use it.

It could end up a very messy business for them if they handle it badly as the thing that's come across to everyone is "free CS2".
Best regards
