Ladies Competition Night 14th February 2013

Calling all ladies.

We are having a ladies competition night on the 14th February and we would like as many of our lovely ladies to participate.

The images must be in by 7th February and the usual club rules apply for presentation. You can put up to 3 digital images forward (any subject) and we are selecting 3 male judges who will each give scores out of 5.

Please can you let me have your images by stick, cd or email to gillblower@live.com.

Come on girls, lets make this a great event!

We are holding a Gentleman's competition night later in the year, just before I am accused of being sexist!

I think it's best to see brand new images so the judging will be fair. They can then still be used in future comps then.

Many thanks to the 9 ladies who have given me entries for our Ladies Night Competition.

The deadline is today as I will have to pass the entries to Keith to put into our new super duper scoring system! I will be at the Club tonight so if you still want to enter see me then.

Any entries used in the Ladies Night Comp can be used again in monthly/annual competitions.

Please do not be afraid of entering - its only for FUN - and there will be wine for the winner!

On the night we will choose 3 male club members to be our judges!

Good luck to all the Ladies who have entered, but it's still not too late as Gill has said - get those e-mails and zipped folders winging their way to her!

Don't forget that the folder of images you send will need to be zipped or it may not e-mail as an attachment.

Don't forget that everyone can attend this event, it's not for Ladies Only! In this instance the Gentlemen will be doing the judging, but be careful, because next time it will be the Ladies who sit in judgement!

Really enjoyed the ladies night and thanks to all those involved in putting it together. Congratulations to Tracey for winning, and well done to us ladies for a great selection of images. John's comments on the images, as usual, was most welcome - and very informative and interesting. Invaluable for those of use trying to move our photography forward. At least 2 of us said that we now have more confidence as a result of the evening. The new scoring system worked well, and the fact that the scores were out of 5 made more sense to me - you could understand the reason behind the score. If I had one criticism it would be that the score screen was not easily readable as it was all pushed up to one side. Can that be easily altered? Other than that an extremely useful and enjoyable evening.
