Hi everybody
I have always thought that it's best to avoid buying a lens with 'fungal' problems but one for sale has got me thinking.
A Sigma 17-50 mm F2.8 at a reasonable price ( £70 ) with 'minor' fungus which is speaking to me BUT is it a bargain or
white elephant?
Your opinions please.

Fungus can be treated with cleaning and/or exposure to UV light (sunlight does nicely) but I'd have a low threshold for price. personally, I wouldn't spend more than £20 for a fungused lens, unless it was a really rare one that was worth saving.
Best regards
John

Thanks John. My thinking was 95% against the lens and you have added the final 5. Pity as the lens gets pretty good reports.
