It's been a while, but I sent a couple of slide films off recently and had a sense of excitement not felt for some time (with my photography) when the package came through the post, especially when I wasn't sure of what they were of ... some will be mounted and submitted for the monthlies

Us digital users get the same feeling when that delivery of shots comes through the post even though we've spent time looking at them on a screen theres nothing like seeing it in print format.

Very true, I had a photo delivered the other day that looked amazing and bright on screen and when it was printed had a very disappointing green tinge. Since the other two images were spot on the screen representation I don't really know what went on, I guess it was some processing done when they were transmitted over the internet. Go figure.
