Progress?

Here's a couple of cameras that might make us think about how much weight we carry around these days....

I personally like a camera with a bit of weight to it. I don't like flimsy cameras.
My new S5 Pro is already quite hefty and I've added the battery grip for more weight. :-d

Gee, that brings back some memories John! I bought a Pentax Auto110 outfit back in the day, complete with interchangeable lenses, a neat flashgun and a wee motordrive! It was a bloody daft idea, but luckily for Pentax, there were plenty of daft people like me around.

I never could resist camera bags of all shapes and sizes and the 110 Speedbag is superb....

The Pentax 110 SLR system is capable of excellent results but the imprecise nature of the 110 film cartridge is its real enemy. Pentax sold masses of the kits, I suspect basically because the whole system is so cute!

I can stll remember the big spluge in Amateur Photographer when Kodak released the 110 format. There were several cameras released from very basic to advanced, they all looked a bit like the Minox 16mm 'spy' cameras. As john says, the big problem was the in the cartridges themselves.

Luckily I was never tempted to buy one - or 126, or APS or a disc camera for that matter.
