Quick Caption Competition

Post by John »

Here's an image and you are invited to provide a suitable caption. The deadline for entries is Midnight on Wednesday 8th July and the wonner will be presented with a Bottle of Wine at the clubnight the following day. If you're not there, the second will get the wine, or the third place....and if no-one is there I will drink it on Friday. We wouldn't want that to happen.....

Here goes:

The instructions on the packet were "plant the seeds 3 foot apart" not 3 foot deep.

The competition is now over, and the audience waits with baited breath to se which of the contestants has triumphed! They stand in the spotlights, trembling with exhaustion after their sterling performances....

I was attracted to three entries in particular, from Len, Pammie and Tracey and after mulling over them all decided the one that made me smile most put the results in this order:

1st Len McNally - simple, catchy and to the point
2nd Pammie Vose - another snappy caption worthy of a titter or two
3rd Tracey McGovern - Tracey noticed the butt, so to speak, and gave her caption a Victorian flavour.

Special mention to Sue Riley and Myra Barr for making different approaches to it as well. If only I understood Myra's proverb....

So my caption would have been: "Geoffrey discovers the consequences of telling the truth when his wife asked him what he thought of her new dress....."

Have fun all and see you tonight! :-d
Best regards

WEll Len duly accepted his bottle of wine, but as he has given up wine he kindly donated it to Pammie.

Pammie doesn't drink, so decided to donate the wine to Tracey.

Tracey wasn't with us tonight so I have the wine nice and safe awaiting her return next week! I wonder who Tracey will donate it to......
Best regards

Ahhhh - thanks Guys. Well, I think I might just donate the wine to my tastebuds, sorry John, I know you were hoping for a chance to taste it yourself, never mind, better luck next time.
